Back to Normal?

Texas week is over.  The heavy traffic is gone.  The packed stores are no longer crowded.  The visitors to the village are gone.  Life is quiet again.  No more music coming in the windows until late at night.  In addition, the flowers are all blooming, the grass is green and the world is beautiful.

We are trying to stuff in all the activities we had planned on doing this winter before we leave.  Where did the time go?  It seems we only arrived a month ago and now it is time to leave.  So many things to do!  Dolphin watches to go on, a sunset dinner cruise on a catamaran, visit the zoo, walks on the beach, more golf, more kite flying, more time with friends; busy, busy, busy as Sue would say.

Then we have to get everything in the trailer ready to travel as well.  Stuff in the trailer to store in the shed, stuff in the shed that has to go back in the trailer, store the golf cart, etc.  Busy, busy, busy!  When we first started traveling I couldn’t wait to get on the road, to see a new place, to visit someone else.  Now, I am comfortable here.  There are lots of things to do, it is beautiful and the weather is perfect.  Still, love of family and friends sing their siren song and I long, I long for them.  Still, I am comfortable here.  But, I go.  I cannot resist the call, the draw of love.  But … , I shall return.

  1. Many of the snowbirds here in Florida are starting to head north. The magnolia trees are flowering and the cypress trees are growing new needles. The pine trees have about 6 inches of new growth already and we have baby sandhill cranes. The valencia oranges are ripe and juicy, and a new crop of grapefruit is on the shelves. We had Grouper for dinner last night and today I bought a big chunk of Maco Shark. We are eating alot of fish down here. Hope your travels north are safe. Glad to hear that you are going to be in rifle. If we get to Colorado this summer we will stop by.

    • Good to hear from you Ron. The valencias have come on here too as well as really great grapefruit. We are going to miss the fresh shrimp and fish here as well when we leave. I do hope we can get together this summer. It would be a lot of fun.
