Flagstaff, AZ

Sorry for not updating this site recently.  We are in Flagstaff but do not have reliable internet at the park we are staying in while here.

The winter in Port Isabel, TX had been cooler and wetter than normal, just like most of the country, so we were looking forward to being here and warmer weather.

Welcome to Spring in Flagstaff

Welcome to Spring in Flagstaff

Oh well!

It did not snow much and the temperatures did not stay real cold for long.  We did have our water supply hose freeze so I had to dig out the heat tape and insulation and put it on the hose.  Since then it has been warmer.

Our trip here was uneventful with the exception of a great visit with Scott Fagen and his wife Lisa just north of Abilene, TX.  Scott used to be a Detective at the Coconino County Sheriff’s office where our son Bill still works.  It was fun to see him again.  They made us feel most welcome.  That is one of the best benefits of traveling, we get to see friends all around the western United States.

We have been enjoying visiting with Bill, Summer and of course Sienna.  She is sure growing up.  At eighteen months she can now talk with us although I don’t always understand all she says.  It is a real treat to watch her play and interact with her world.  You can see her mind working, picking up new concepts and exploring new ideas.  It is amazing how much a child learns is such a short time.

Hi Nana!

Hi Nana!

Summer’s Mom, Theresa and Lloyd, her husband; Tanner, Summer’s brother; Rich and Cathy, Summer’s grandparents; Summer’s Uncle, Big Larry and Dani, a friend of Theresa and us all spent Easter Sunday at Sienna’s house.  We might as well refer to it that way because she definitely was the center of attention.  The weather cooperated and we were able to watch Sienna gather Easter eggs and enjoy the great outdoors that surrounds her home.

As you can tell, we all had fun.  Big barbequed chicken and we had a huge spread of other great food.  There is nothing like spending time with family and loved ones to make us remember what is really important in life.

We will leave here next Thursday or Friday and head to Grand Junction, CO for the summer.  It is always difficult to leave one place for another because we are always leaving loved ones but we are also looking forward to seeing loved ones at our next destination.

We hope you are all well and are enjoying loved ones in your life.
