Look at this – TWO posts in the same week! Will wonders never cease. Bob, Korine and Dottie came down again on Independence Day to watch fireworks. Linda and Korine had to run a few errands in town and left Dottie with Bob and I at the trailer. I think she enjoyed herself.
Speaking of the Fourth of July, we have a blue water hose that lies on the ground on the southwest side of the trailer. This last week the sun has been so hot that the “cold” water coming in from that hose has been hotter than the water coming out of the hot water heater. I got curious the other day and measured the temperature: 120 degrees. It takes a couple of minutes to run all the water out of the hose and replace it with cooler water from the source. Just another little oddity of living on the road.
We went o Grand Junction and parked a couple of blocks from the stadium and set chairs in the back of the truck. Unfortunately, the fireworks show was not very good. It only lasted twenty minutes and did not have a good variety of effects. There were hardly any “Mortars”, the ones that go BOOOM and shake the ground. They are my favorite. I set my tripod out so I could get some good pictures of the fireworks but my ancient and feeble mind let me down again and I left it, the tripod, not my mind, I think, at home. So my pictures did not turn out very good. Still, there were a few I thought were interesting, not good, but interesting.
A “professional” photographer would not even consider showing anyone these photos but I found them interesting. My shakiness added an entirely new dimension to the pictures I think. The last one is sureal. It makes me thing of the music of the universe. What do you think? I will award Fifty Points to the person who comes up with the best captions for any of the pictures.
